Emerging in the 1970s, Artist Run Centres are critical spaces for regional Canadian artists looking to showcase contemporary arts and culture. We were hired to redesign the galleries branding, including their new logo inspired by corporate design of the 1970s.
The new Artspace Peterborough logo was designed to reflect the gallery’s identity as a long-standing, artist-run centre dedicated to contemporary art and creative experimentation. The visual approach focuses on a clean, modern typographic system that balances professionalism with the open, exploratory nature of an artist-driven space. Blending traditional blackletter typography with a modern, playful identity, the branding for Lupo! was crafted to evoke a sense of both timelessness and contemporary energy. The goal was to reflect a kitchen rooted in Italian tradition while embracing a forward-thinking, innovative spirit.
